Having lived in France and Belgium, I do know a thing or two about crepes and waffles, and I was sure I would never be satisfied with any of the local imitations. But this is a cute little place and whenever I passed by it, I was tempted to go in. And one day I finally did! I met the owner of this place and she said these are actually Tokyo style creations; so I’m not comparing them to their French counterparts.
First, let me talk about the crepes. They have both sweet and savory ones with options of different kinds of meat. The crepe in itself is a bit small but the flavor and taste is quite good. The vegetables and meat used in the crepe tasted very fresh and well cooked. It is served like an ice cream cone, so it’s very handy if you just want to eat it like a snack on the way home.
Coming to the waffles, I took a simple waffle with chocolate syrup to get to know the actual taste of the base. I wasn’t much impressed since I have always preferred the softer Brussels style waffles to the biscuit-like Liege style waffles in Belgium. But the chocolate syrup was amazing! I’m sure it was not prepared in house but it showed that they use the best ingredients.
Overall, it is not the best crepes and waffles I have tasted, but definitely worth a visit. The place is quite tiny but with cute decorations and I’m sure kids will love it! Once in a while, there is some free tasting too, since they are still experimenting with new flavors to add. For around 70,000đ for combos, it is worth giving a try.
