Visited Burger King's branch on Phạm Hồng Thái street next to New World Hotel today, and as it is the week before Christmas there was a Christmas tree next to the checkout and some decorations in the store to bring a bit of Christmas to Ho Chi Minh City.
I decided to go along with the theme and ordered a Christmas Whopper value meal, which is a Whopper with a different dressing. I paid a total of 133,000đ for my Christmas Whopper with cheese, french fries and a bottle of Dasani water. The bottle of water instead of a soft drink is my way of tricking myself that the meal suddenly got a lot healthier.
The burger was just as I would expect it to be, and even though I have heard people say that the burger buns are terrible in Vietnam, I could not notice any difference to a normal Whopper in Western countries. The burger patty, bun and veggies were all very nice and had that distinct Burger King taste which at least I have come to like. The honey mustard dressing was tasty even though it was a bit too mayonnaisy for me, worth a try but does not beat the original.
The staff at the counter were nice and efficient and when I was a bit slow to pick up the food, they brought it to my table. Overall a very similar experience to visiting a Burger King in Europe or the U.S.
