As much as the coffee shop scene in Saigon offers an endless choice, once you’ve found the one you like, just stick to it, that’s a bit of my story with café Sonate, as it’s very calm, breezy, has stable wifi, therefore the perfect work spot.
However, you should only go there is you have the time and don’t mind disorganized service. I’m always surprised to see that it takes then more than 10 minutes to bring me my Cà phê đá (iced coffee). There is definitely some progress to do concerning the customer’s expectations of service!
Being said that, it is never too crowded and they would not mind if you take a table of 6 although you are alone. You can choose from 3 different terraces with water fountains and greenery, as well as an A/C indoor area.
In the evening, you can enjoy live classical music as there is a piano and a cello, a detail I highly appreciate as I’m not a big fan of Vietnamese remixed music.
Their menu is quite dull, but definitely go for the gin and lemon cocktail, a killer drink reward for a productive work session.
