The Cresent Mall is located in D.7 & is easily accessible from district 1, a 15 minute drive away. The mall is set over 4 floors & has been described as ‘the first real’ mall. This title is surely due to its layout which is much more akin to a mall in the west than any other in Vietnam. The 4 floors accommodate all types of stores, from The Gap to Sony to a range of furniture outlets offering everything to fill your home. The top floor houses an amusement area & a CGV cinema, this combined with the shopping make it an ideal choice for a day out. The mall surroundings are also inviting with grassy areas & a large lake.
Whilst wandering around the mall, at times I forgot I was in Vietnam, it truly feels very distant to anything in Vietnam. However, possibly due to this it also feels clinical both in cleanliness & in the general atmosphere of the place. The interior could have been more carefully thought out to provide a more welcoming atmosphere & the amount of unoccupied spaces adds to this airy feel. The aquarium is a nice touch but clearly that’s where the consideration for aesthetic comforts ended.
Regardless of the feel, The Cresent Mall does exactly what it is intended to do, that being to cater to people for shopping, snacking & seeking entertainment. Four stars due to the wide range of stores, the surroundings, eating options & the cinema.
