Frequented by Vietnamese and expats alike, Tous les jours is a paradise for pastry lovers. They have a variety of bread, muffins, cakes, croissants, etc. Although I found that they are not authentic French, it is as close as it can get in Vietnam. I have bought baguettes to birthday cakes here and in most occasions I found the products fresh and tasty. Only issue is some of their cakes were either too creamy or a little dry for my taste at times!
Anyhow, I wanted to try their “eat-in” arrangement and went to the one of their bigger branches on Hai Bà Trưng Street. The staff sometimes doesn’t speak English which is off-putting if you have to explain why you are taking pictures. Finally, I ordered a veggie sandwich and a walnut with honey muffin and decided to get seated in their quite comfortable sitting area. There are also plenty of drink options, so it can serve as a café for you to spend time with your friends in the evenings.
The sandwich was extremely good and was quite cheap too! For around 25,000đ, it was incredibly fresh, tasty and completely filling. The muffin was a great value for its price of 50,000đ as well. It was filled with walnuts and glazed with honey. Every bite made me crave for more. The soft and spongy texture of the muffin combined with the crunchy nuts made it delightful to eat. As for their drinks, their yogurt based smoothies are my absolute favorite. They use fresh fruits and no artificial flavors, so it as healthy as it tastes good. Overall, it is one of the best bakeries in town at reasonable prices.
