Fly Cupcake

FLY stands for Forever Love You and I will forever love their cupcakes. It’s a tiny but very cute cupcake shop in the intersection between Lê Thánh Tôn and Hai Bà Trưng. I have wanted to go there ever since I laid my eyes on it, for such is the charm of its décor. The shop is decorated in the soft colors of blue and pink with a lot of adorable cupcake shaped artifacts which will make girls go “awww”. Once inside, their varieties of cupcakes display the creativity of the baker and some of the shapes and names are pure fun.

I ordered the Queen velvet, apparently the queen of cupcakes and their specialty. I can not confirm if it’s the queen or not, but it was incredibly delicious. The cake was fresh, soft and spongy with the right texture and the cream on top of it was just amazing. It did not feel sugary as in the other local Saigon bakeries. It was creamy with the right amount of sweetness and just melted in my mouth. Heavenly! I also ordered a drink, Iced Green tea Smoothie – it was not the best or in any way special, but it gave me a few more moments to sit in the cute place and access their free wifi, so I am not complaining.

A special mention to the staff who were very friendly and were core to the nice vibe of the place. Though the area is quite small, I noticed that many people chose to buy for take-away, so there is a high probability that you will get yourself a comfortable seat to enjoy the little bundle of joy. Overall I loved the place and their cupcakes equally and would definitely go back to try all their flavours.
